Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

The New York Post reports that a migrant from Guatemala, likely illegal, has been arrested for allegedly lighting a sleeping woman on fire as she sat in a subway car in Brooklyn on Sunday, then watching as his innocent victim burned to death in what the New York’s top cop called “one of the most depraved crimes one person could possibly commit.”

The savage killing, which happened at about 7:30 a.m. on an idling F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station, shocked commuters, transit workers and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, who said Sunday that the heinous crime “took the life of an innocent New Yorker.”

Tisch described the horrific crime at a press conference, stating:

“As the train pulled into the station, the suspect calmly walked up to the victim, who was in a seated position at the end of a subway car … and used what we believe to be a lighter to ignite the victim’s clothing, which became fully engulfed in a matter of seconds.”

Patrolling cops smelled and saw the smoke, then found the flame-covered woman, later identified as 29-year-old Amelia Carter.

They extinguished the blaze, but the woman died at the scene.

Horrifying video showed the suspect calmly looking on as flames consumed the poor woman, who stood inside the open subway car doors.

A transit cop walked by, and seemed to pull out a radio and say something as they continued down the platform.

After the cop passed, the suspect got up from the bench, then the clip cut off.

Another video shared on social media shows the suspect get off the bench and walk over to the open subway door, where he starts fanning the burning woman with a piece of clothing — first with two hands on the cloth and then with just one.

In other footage, cops yelled to the gathered crowd, “Did anybody see anything? Did anybody see anything?” as smoke poured from inside the subway car.

The suspect brazenly sat on a nearby bench as cops huddled around, pulling his hood up at one point just before an officer spoke to him.

“Unbeknownst to the officers who responded, the suspect had stayed on the scene and was seated on a bench on the platform just outside the train car,” Tisch said.

Later that day, three high schoolers called police to say they saw the man at the Jay and York Street station on the F line, according to Tisch, where he was arrested.

Tisch said the suspect had a lighter in his pocket when he was picked up.

The suspect entered the country and was detained by border patrol agents in Arizona in June 2018.

Authorities were still working to confirm whether he is in the country legally or illegally.

The poor woman’s fiery death came just as Governor Kathy Hochul sent 250 more National Guard troops into the Big Apple’s subway system for the holiday rush, swelling its $100 million subway deployment to 1,000 troops.

Hochul has insisted that her March deployment of National Guard troops into the subways led to a dramatic drop in transit crime.

But despite the governor’s efforts, subway murders rose by at least 60% this year, according to data collected in September.

Trump’s incoming border czar, Tom Homan, had this to say about Governor Hochul’s sanctuary policies.

Joe Biden on Monday commuted the sentences of 37 of the 40 men on federal death row, a list that includes at least five child killers and several mass murderers.

In the stunning act of clemency just two days before Christmas, Biden, 82, gave the reprieve to some of the nation’s most violent murderers, nine of whom were found too dangerous to live after butchering fellow inmates.

The White House said it’s all part of Biden’s effort at “ensuring a fair and effective justice system.”

Biden said in a statement:

“Make no mistake: I condemn these murderers, grieve for the victims of their despicable acts, and ache for all the families who have suffered unimaginable and irreparable loss. But guided by my conscience and my experience as a public defender, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Vice President, and now President, I am more convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level. In good conscience, I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted.”

Biden, who opposes the death penalty, lowered each of the 37 sentences to life in prison without parole. He did not say why specifically he considered the original penalties unjust.

The congressional ethics investigators said Matt Gaetz violated state laws. He allegedly paid numerous women — including a 17-year-old girl — for sex. He also allegedly purchased and used illegal drugs, including from his Capitol Hill office, according to a final draft of a comprehensive investigative report obtained by CBS News.

The report noted:

“From 2017 to 2020, Representative Gaetz made tens of thousands of dollars in payments to women that the Committee determined were likely in connection with sexual activity and/or drug use.”

The report lists payments totaling more than $90,000 to 12 different women.

The committee said it also received testimony that at a 2017 party, Gaetz twice had sex with “Victim A,” who was 17 years old at the time and had just completed her junior year in high school.

Here’s how CBS News reported it.

Gaetz denies all of it. He has left Congress, and the release of the report seems geared toward keeping him out of government for the rest of his life.

While the alleged behavior is detestable, you can rest assured of this one thing: Worse crimes have been committed by Democrats and the information on them will never get released to the public. And even if it was released, the corrupt corporate media companies would refuse to publish it, just like they refused to report on the Hunter Biden laptop.

The Biden administration has scrapped plans to prohibit states from banning transgender athletes from participating in school sports.

According to Reuters, Biden’s Department of Education withdrew the proposed rule from the federal register on Friday afternoon.

The rule, if it went into effect, would have barred schools from banning transgender athletes from participating in sports teams different from their sex assigned at birth.

According to Outkick, the Education Department explained its reasoning for withdrawing the proposed rule in a statement that read:

“The Department recognizes that there are multiple pending lawsuits related to the application of Title IX in the context of gender identity, including lawsuits related to Title IX’s application to athletic eligibility criteria in a variety of factual contexts. In light of the comments received and those various pending court cases, the Department has determined not to regulate on this issue at this time. Therefore, the Department hereby withdraws the Athletics NPRM and terminates this rulemaking proceeding.”

The Alliance Defending Freedom, one of the organizations that sued the Biden administration over the rule, welcomed the move in a statement.

ADF Senior Counsel and Vice President of Legal Strategy Jonathan Scruggs said:

“Women and girls deserve to compete on a level playing field, and the U.S. Department of Education has taken a step in the right direction by withdrawing this proposed change. As the withdrawal admitted, many Americans voiced their opposition to the rule change and there are many pending lawsuits related to protecting women’s sports, including a comment submitted by Alliance Defending Freedom and multiple lawsuits brought by ADF to protect women’s sports. The decision to withdraw the proposed sports rule merely reflects the views of the vast majority of Americans who believe that women’s sports should remain reserved for female athletes.”

The Washington Times reports that anti-Trump federal government lawyers are being begged to remain in place in the new administration, with activists encouraging them to act as a bulwark against the incoming president’s conservative policies.

Those who feel they cannot remain on the inside, meanwhile, are being urged to look for jobs in Democrat-led state governments where they can find other perches to impede the Trump agenda.

The legal specialists doled out the advice on an American Constitution Society webinar last week, titled Should I Stay or Should I Go, which pondered the decisions facing anti-Trump federal employees, which is 90 percent of them.

The overriding advice was to stay, if at all possible.

Barbara McQuade, a U.S. attorney until she was ousted in the first Trump administration for her insubordination, was one of the anti-Trump activists doling out advice on the webinar. She said:

“I think it’d be really important to have people of integrity in place in the Department of Justice and elsewhere to stand up and say ‘This is wrong.’ You might just ride it out and see how things go.”

The advisers warned lawyers to be prepared to resign if such action makes an important statement, but they were urged to at least give it a go at first.

An overriding worry was that they wouldn’t be given the chance.

Trump has promised to take control of the federal bureaucracy, a key weapon of the deep state, and fire those who refuse to implement his policies.

That includes a planned attempt to strip civil-service protections from tens of thousands of employees in policy-related jobs.

The lawyers on the webinar said they doubted the culling would be as extensive as advertised, and they said the Biden administration has taken some steps to hinder Trump. It will take time to unwind those steps, and the whole issue will likely end up in the courts anyway.

It's been rumored for weeks, but Honda and Nissan finally admitted they are engaged in merger talks.

Yahoo Finance reports that Honda and Nissan are in talks to merge by 2026, they said on Monday, a historic pivot for Japan's auto industry that underlines the threat Chinese EV makers now pose to the world's long-dominant legacy car makers.

The tie-up would create the world's third-largest auto group by vehicle sales after Toyota and Volkswagen.

It would also give the two companies scale and a chance to share resources in the face of intense competition from Tesla and Chinese rivals such as BYD.

The merger of Honda, Japan's second-largest automaker, with Nissan, its No. 3, would be the biggest reshaping in the global auto industry since Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA merged in 2021 to create Stellantis in a $52-billion deal.

Smaller Mitsubishi Motors, in which Nissan is top shareholder, was also considering joining and would make a decision by the end of January, the companies said.

The chief executives of all three held a joint press conference in Tokyo.

The rise of Chinese automakers and other new players has changed the car industry dramatically in recent years, the Honda CEO said, citing technological trends of electrification and autonomous driving.

The two companies aim to wrap up talks around June 2025 before setting up a new holding company by August 2026.

Honda, which has a market capitalization of more than $40 billion, roughly four times that of Nissan, will appoint the majority of the company's board, they said.

A member of Congress has not voted or reported for work since July and the news has finally come out about why.

Rep. Kay Granger, Republican of Texas, who remains in office until January 3, was reportedly found living in a retirement community that offers memory care services.

The Dallas Express reported that the 81-year-old Republican representative, who is retiring at the end of her term in January, has not cast a vote in Washington, D.C., for nearly six months, despite Republicans holding an ultra-slim majority in the House of Representatives.

The Dallas Express received a tip from one of Granger’s constituents, who claimed that the elderly representative had been living in a memory-care and assisted-living center after she was found lost and confused in her neighborhood. The outlet noted that two employees at the retirement community confirmed that the Republican lawmaker was living at the facility.

The assistant executive director of the facility confirmed to The Dallas Express that Granger was a full-time resident of the retirement home.

Her son, Brandon Granger, denied to The New York Post that his mother was living in a memory-care facility but admitted that she has shown signs of dementia over the past three months.

Time now for our nightly Worldview Report commentary.

The U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, has claimed that child sex trafficking across the southern border is not his responsibility.

In an interview with Margaret Brennan of Face The Nation, Mayorkas was asked about the 32,000 unaccompanied children who have entered the United States between 2019 and 2023.

According to Donald Trump’s incoming border czar Tom Homan, these children are being exploited and trafficked for criminal enterprises.

Mayorkas responded:

“Margaret, we certainly have received reports of children being trafficked, even those as to whom we know where they are. That is outside the responsibility of the Department of Homeland Security. What we do is we turn children over within 72 hours, as the law requires, to the Department of Health and Human Services, and then HHS places those children.”

So, he admits they know where some of these exploited children are but they do nothing to rescue them. Astonishing.

He goes on to say that “I think it is inaccurate to say that all of them are trafficked or victimized. There are a number of reasons why we might lose track of an individual that is not necessarily specific to this administration.”

Ben Kew, writing for The Gateway Pundit, noted:

“Such comments perfectly encapsulate the arrogance that Mayorkas has displayed since the moment he was confirmed to the position.”

Under Mayorkas’s leadership of the agency, more than 10 million illegal aliens have entered the country, causing untold suffering and social unrest. We reported on some of it earlier in this broadcast. An American woman, just 29 years old, was burned alive on a subway car by one of these illegals. And people wonder why Donald Trump won such large margins, even in many immigrant communities. People have had enough of the violence against our people.

What did they expect would happen when they opened the borders and invited the world. What nation does that?

And when Tom Homan goes after these criminals, the media will again take up for the criminals and attempt to portray Homan and Trump as the bad guys. They will need to have steely resolve to get the job done, but most of us will have their backs.

That does it for this edition of the Worldview Report.

Thanks for tuning in and supporting this broadcast.

Until next time…
