Ask Dr. John #38
Originally Aired: MARCH 5, 2015
Ask Dr. John with Dr. John Whitcomb. Topic: At the start of the program Brannon addresses the need to not be a contentious contender as so many on social media seem to be today; including so called discernment bloggers, authors, and ministry leaders. Brannon explains how a cranky contender is a woeful witness and what should drive us to discernment is the love of truth and not the love of the debate. Now we go to Dr. John. Question: What are the best evidences of young-earth creationism? Question: Does a believer who dies receive a mansion immediately or only later—following the rapture (cf. John 14:1-6)? Question: What does it mean to be “delivered unto Satan” (1 Tim. 1:20)? Question: How will there continue to be “nations” in eternity future (cf. Rev. 21:24; 21:26; 22:2)? Question: Is there a difference between the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the filling of the Holy Spirit? Question: My husband and I attend a Bible study in addition to our church. A new couple in our group attends a church with a woman pastor. If we do not confront this situation are we endorsing it with our silence? Question:Today, I engaged in a conversation with a very troubled young man I have known since his childhood. He is so angry and challenging and trying to shock me with his claims of magical powers, spiritual practice and bad language. I kept calmly telling him that Jesus is God, that I believe in Jesus as my Lord, that Jesus is the only One who can help us, etc. Should a Christian just go ahead and say, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan,” when we suspect someone needs that? I do believe this man could be possessed. Question: What will happen to Israel in the current crisis with Iran? Question: Can Jews be saved without believing in Jesus? Question: I just heard Dr. Whitcomb give Scripture to say we were the only beings in the universe. There are many television programs about spaceships, aliens, mysteries of the pyramids, Stonehenge and drawings by the Egyptians and other cultures depicting beings coming from the heavens. Where did these come from and why are they here? Could these people have seen the angels of Gen. 6:1-4? Topic: We take your calls.
