Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

The New York Post is reporting that top brass within the Democrat Party have already chosen a nominee to announce at the DNC next month, and it isn’t Kamala Harris.

The report asserts that “As calls for him to bow out mounted, Biden insisted he would continue, but party bigwigs threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.”

The Post report also posits that Democrat delegates are going to be pushed to support someone else for the nomination, with the most prominent name mentioned being Arizona Senator and former astronaut Mark Kelly.

Kelly is also married to former Democrat Rep. Gabby Giffords, who was nearly assassinated in January 2011. The choice would be a clear effort to counter the empathy many Americans now have with Trump after he was almost killed.

The report states that “Although Biden immediately endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for president, the source said Democratic delegates will be strongly encouraged to instead back Arizona senator and former astronaut Mark Kelly for president at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.”

The report also notes that Barack Obama has refrained from endorsing Harris, instead cryptically announcing that the Party “will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead.”

Here’s another aspect of the Post’s story: Sources told the news outlet that top Democrats set Biden up to fail during his debate with Donald Trump in late June.

Operatives at the highest levels of the Democratic Party threatened to forcibly remove Biden from office unless he agreed to step down willingly.

A source close to the Biden family told The Post that the well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president from seeking re-election has been in place for months.

But Biden stubbornly fought against it every step of the way.

The insider also made clear the anger, paranoia, and frustration Biden displayed as the party elite encircled him and piled on the pressure.

Part of the elaborate strategy to remove Biden from the race was allowing him to debate Trump in Atlanta last month on live TV.

During the 90-minute debate, Biden appeared confused and slack-jawed, and at one point, he froze up. The CNN cameras quickly turned away and swung to a question directed at Trump.

Biden’s shockingly poor performance triggered a media avalanche against him, followed by equally brutal reactions from loyal Democrats.

The source told The Post, “That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president.”

Meanwhile, Joe Biden made his first public appearance since July 17 and then announcing Sunday he was dropping out of the 2024 race for re-election.

Here he is, looking dazed as he ignored most of the questions being yelled at him by reporters.

Biden will reportedly deliver an address from the Oval Office tonight (Wednesday) focusing on his decision to leave the 2024 presidential race and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris already has reportedly locked up a majority of the delegates attending the upcoming DNC on August 19. But those delegates could still change over to another candidate if the convention gets thrown open and they are allowed to cast votes for one of multiple candidates.

Just hours before Biden announced he was stepping down from the 2024 race, House Speaker Mike Johnson said Sunday that such a move might lead to legal challenges.

Johnson, R-La., told ABC News This Week co-anchor Martha Raddatz that it would not be possible for some states to switch out Biden for another candidate ahead of the presidential election in November.

He told Raddatz:

“So, it would be wrong, and I think unlawful, in accordance to some of these states’ rules for a handful of people to go in a back room and switch it out because they don't like the candidate any longer. That's not how this is supposed to work. So I think they would run into some legal impediments in at least a few of these jurisdictions. I think there'll be a compelling case to be made that that shouldn't happen, and so I think they've got legal trouble. If that's their intention, and that's their plan. So we'll see how it plays out.”

U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned Tuesday following mounting pressure over the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on her watch.

Cheatle has come under increased pressure from politicians on both sides of the aisle following Secret Service failures during and after the deadly shooting at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally on July 13.

Yesterday, Cheatle said she was going to stay in the role to try and see through the investigation into the assassination attempt.

Cheatle’s resignation comes just one day into an intense grilling from Congress.

During the hearing Monday, she admitted the attempted assassination of Trump was the agency’s biggest failure in decades.

In a key moment, she admitted the roof from which the shooter had fired was identified as a vulnerability days in advance.

Yet, Secret Service failed to secure the area, despite being aware that it posed a significant risk.

Cheatle said in an email to staff and obtained by The Associated Press:

“I take full responsibility for the security lapse. In light of recent events, it is with a heavy heart that I have made the difficult decision to step down as your director.”

It also came to light that the Secret Service was aware of Matthew Crooks’ presence and that he had a rangefinder, 39 minutes before any shots were fired. Cheatle’s response to that was that a rangefinder was not a prohibited item at the event.

Rangefinders are used almost exclusively by golfers and rifle shooters. And Crooks didn’t show up for a game of golf.

A large group of pro-Hamas, anti-Israel protesters showed up inside the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday, a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived on a state visit to Washington.

Israel’s delegation to the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics received threatening emails referencing the 1972 Munich massacre, phone messages, and even fake invitations to their own funerals this weekend shortly before departing for France.

The Paris Summer Olympics are expected to begin with the traditional Opening Ceremony on Friday. The security of the Israeli Olympians is of particular concern this year as the October 7th Hamas terror attack on the country triggered a massive wave of violent antisemitism around the world that has especially endangered Jews in France.

France is a nation already struggling with nearly a decade of soaring rates of antisemitic violence.

The French left wing has fanned the flames of anti-Israeli sentiment in the country by aligning with the growing population of Muslim migrants in urban areas and amplifying antisemitic tropes. 

Shortly before news surfaced on Sunday of the death threats to the Israeli Olympic team, a left-wing French lawmaker declared to a roaring crowd that the Israeli delegation was “not welcome” in Paris.

According to the Times of Israel, 15 Israeli athletes received emails this weekend from the People’s Defense Organization, which is not a name previously known to be used by any relevant organizations, terrorists, or otherwise. The People’s Defense Organization warned it would be stalking the Israelis “at every moment – in the airport, the hotel, and the streets which belong only to us” and that it would eventually kill the athletes.

The email stated:

“The People’s Defense Organization announces that it intends to harm any Israeli presence at the Olympics. You’re not invited to Paris 2024. If you come, take into account that we intend to repeat the events of Munich 1972…Prepare for the intifada!”

Israel lost 11 athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics, killed by Palestinian jihadists going by the name Black September. West German police failed to protect the athletes and lost an officer, the 12th casualty of the massacre.

The references to Munich in the latest death threats have alarmed Olympics organizers and Israeli officials, who are preparing to send their own security detail to the event.

Lucy-Bleu Knight, the 25-year-old stepdaughter of Guns N’ Roses rocker Slash, has died suddenly and unexpectedly.

The legendary lead guitarist revealed the “‘devastating loss” in a post on social media.

In a post on Instagram, Slash, born Saul Hudson, revealed his stepdaughter died unexpectedly on Friday night in Los Angeles.

He wrote: “Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.”

Slash’s statement concluded:

“The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”

According to the Department of Medical Examiner’s Office, Knight died at a private residence. No cause of death has been determined.

Police in Hancock, Michigan, posted a press release Sunday warning about three different incidents of violent attacks in the city that appeared to be politically motivated, with the targets being “Trump and Law Enforcement supporters.”

One of the victims is an 80-year-old man who was run down in his yard while putting up a Trump sign.

According to the police press release:

“At approximately 5:45PM, in the 1600 blk of Anthony Street, the same subject driving an ATV (4-wheel) allegedly with intention to do harm drove into the residence yard, running over an 80-year-old male who was posting a political sign in his yard. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition. It is believed that the person driving the ATV is involved in all three incidents. Be aware, the subject appeared to target both Trump and Law Enforcement supporters.”

Breitbart noted that this is what happens when billions of corporate media dollars are used to smear the decent, hardworking, everyday people who support former President Donald Trump, calling him Hitler and painting his followers as Nazis.

Ukraine is threatening oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia over those two countries’ resistance to Ukrainian military aid.

According to an article published in The Balkan, the Ukrainian government has forced Lukoil, Russia’s second-largest oil producer, to halt oil transports to Hungary and Slovakia after being sanctioned by the Zelensky regime. 

The sanction can be enforced because Lukoil’s oil transport flows through a pipeline that runs through Ukraine. Slovakia and Hungary have both confirmed that Lukoil transports have been stopped.

Hungary’s Foreign Minister (NAME NOT PRONOUNCABLE) stated that gas shipments from Russia to Hungary were flowing unobstructed through the TurkStream pipeline on the Black Sea, but crude oil was no longer being transferred by Lukoil via Ukraine. 

He said:

“Ukraine’s decision to halt the transit of Russian Lukoil oil to Hungary is both incomprehensible and unacceptable. Although temporary solutions have been implemented to stabilize Hungary’s oil supply, these measures will not suffice in the medium term. Therefore, a permanent solution must be found quickly.”

The Hungarian Foreign Minister emphasized that the halt in Lukoil shipments, which provide a significant portion of Hungarian and Slovakian oil imports, threatens the energy supply. Despite temporary solutions, long-term stability cannot be ensured without resolving this issue. 

He noted, “This decision is unacceptable and incomprehensible from a country aspiring to join the EU.”

Just the News reports that former President Donald Trump on Tuesday denied that he was considering JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon or BlackRock CEO Larry Fink to serve as Treasury secretary.

Trump posted to his Truth Social account:

“I don’t know who said it, or where it came from, perhaps the Radical Left, but I never discussed, or thought of, Jamie Dimon or Larry Fink for Secretary of the Treasury.”

Bloomberg News reported this month that Trump had told the outlet he “would consider” Dimon for the post during an interview. The article made no mention of Fink.

Trump had previously referred to Dimon as a globalist, making the reported about-face a shocking development. 

Dimon, for his part, has previously expressed a desire to serve in a government post, saying in 2023 that “it's crossed my mind because people mention things to you and stuff like that. I love my country and maybe one day I'll serve my country in one capacity or another, but I love what I do.”

Steve Mnuchin served as Trump's Treasury secretary during his first term and was one of the few high-ranking Cabinet appointees to serve through the end of his term.

Just 37 percent of Americans in a new poll said Vice President Kamala Harris should be the Democrat nominee in place of Joe Biden.

A YouGov survey taken July 21, the day Joe Biden announced that he is not seeking reelection asked the question: “Who should Democrats nominate as their new candidate for president?”

Just 37 percent, overall, said Democrats should nominate Kamala Harris. Over one-third, 35 percent, said “someone else,” and over a quarter, 27 percent, said they are not sure.

Independents are not in favor of Harris. As a plurality, 36 percent, said the Democrat nominee should be someone else. Another 30 percent said it should be Harris, and 34 percent were not sure.

Notably, 60 percent of Democrats said Harris should be the nominee, but another 40 percent either think it should be someone else or they are not sure.  Of that 40 percent, 21 percent said it should be someone else, and 19 percent remain unsure.

The survey was taken among 2,048 U.S. adults.

YouGov also asked respondents that same day if they approved of Biden’s decision not to seek reelection, and a majority, 71 percent, said they either strongly or somewhat approved. Among Democrats specifically, 70 percent either strongly or somewhat approved of the decision.

Time now for our Worldview Report commentary.

Former President Donald Trump, who is the current GOP nominee for president in the 2024 election, has promised to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education if he gets elected.

This has infuriated liberals, who see the department as critical to brainwashing and indoctrinating teachers and students.

Trump said in June:

“We’re also moving the Department of Education back to the states. We’re at the bottom of every list, except we spend more per pupil than any other country. And we’re gonna move it back [to the states].”

The idea may sound radical to some but, as noted by the Heartland Daily News, the department’s history is full of controversy about its necessity – and constitutionality.

One might legitimately ask, what does the Education Department actually do? 

According to its website, the stated goal of the U.S. Department of Education is to “promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access.”

Yet, since the department was created under President Jimmy Carter, the quality of education in America has steadily gone downhill relative to other countries. Instead of being more competitive globally, America’s public schools are less competitive.

The department’s own website says it has four main objectives:

• Distributing federal funds to both K-12 and higher education institutions
• Collecting data (on schools and students) and conducting research
• Ensuring equal access to and countering discrimination in public schools
• Bringing attention to national issues regarding education

State education departments play a much larger role in managing public education. State superintendents and school boards make decisions about learning standards, teacher licensing, charter schools and school-choice programs, while enforcing a variety of state regulations.

In contrast, a large part of the federal Department of Education’s function is simply shuffling tax dollars, Heartland reports.

A government spending watchdog estimates the vast majority of the department’s budget goes to the Offices of Federal Student Aid, Elementary and Secondary Education, and Special Education and Rehabilitative Services.

The department provides roughly $85 billion in annual federal funding to K-12 public schools and $31 billion in various college grants (not including student loans), the Education Data Initiative reported. This comes from a federal government that is $35 trillion in debt and has no constitutional authority to be involved in our children’s education.

The department in recent years has tried to bully local school districts into degenderizing their bathrooms and locker rooms, encouraging boys to shower with girls, and causing all manner of problems. Federal education funds have also been used to open health clinics inside schools that are often staffed with counselors pushing transgenderism and other cultural poison.

So if Trump is elected for another term as president, we should encourage him to make good on his promise.

The U.S. Department of Education does more harm than good.
