Recently the British House of Commons passed an animal-human hybrid law that will take the British people (and eventually all of us) into a future genetic dystopia. The scientists have been given permission to create any kind of hybrid, including those created from cloning, animal eggs and human sperm.

In order to understand how bizarre this will become, we only need consider the words of Dr. Calum MacKellar, research director at the Scottish Council on Human Bioethics. In an interview with The Scotsman, he talked about all sorts of animal-human hybrids including what he called "humanzees." He pointed out that there is a desperate need for human organs. These human-chimpanzee hybrids could provide those organs.

Back in 1984 scientists created the world's first sheep-goat hybrid by fusing a sheep embryo with a goat embryo. The resulting animal called a "geep" consisted of goat cells and sheep cells. Since then many other animal hybrids have also been created such as wholphins (whale and dolphin), lepjags (leopard and jaguar), and a pizzly (polar bear and grizzly bear).

By now, I assume you are probably shaking your head. I am. This is unbelievable and illustrates what happens when science is allowed to pursue any avenue without any moral or legal constraints.

Can this happen in the U.S.? Some believe that it is only a matter of time. That is why Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) have introduced the Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act. The bill would prevent this research if Congress is willing to consider the legislation and vote for the legislation. At the moment, the bill languishes in committee.

Time has come to pass this bill and prevent the creation of animal-human hybrids in this country. I'm Kerby Anderson, and that's my point of view.
