Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

The stories out of Southern California just keep getting worse.

On Thursday, LA County deputies found what they believe are human remains in the rubble of the Palisades Fire. 

Hundreds of homes, many of them historic, such as the Roy Rogers home, have been totally destroyed.

Thousands of people have had their insurance canceled by major insurance companies, some just weeks before the fires struck.

As fires rage across Los Angeles, causing residents to literally flee for their lives, city officials are complaining there is not enough water to fight the fires.

We covered in our previous newscast why that is. The state of California, under the leadership of Governor Gavin Newsom, thought it was more important to protect a small fish called the smelt than to protect the lives and property of citizens.

But that’s not the end of the story.

The LA Fire Department is also complaining that it suffers from not just a lack of water but a lack of manpower.

To find the reason for that, look no further than 2021 and 2022 when the county was firing hundreds of firefighters who refused the Covid vax.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said the department was incapable of managing such a massive natural disaster, stating:

“There are not enough firefighters in all of Los Angeles County to address four separate fires of this magnitude. The LA County Fire Department was prepared for one or two major wildfires, but not the four. This is not a normal red flag alert.”

Of course, they want us to forget what happened in 2021 and 2022.

As pointed out by the popular End Wokeness account on X, local news media even ran reports back in 2021 about how hundreds of firefighters had their employment terminated after refusing to provide proof of vaccination.

Honestly, these fires would be difficult to fight if there were an entire legion of firefighters ready to answer the call.

Reclaim the Net reports that newly-released documents reveal the Trudeau administration was quietly advancing plans in March 2021 for a national vaccine passport system, part of a broader push toward integrating Canadians into an international digital ID framework.

These early discussions, uncovered through a freedom of information request and reported by Rebel News, show that the groundwork for linking vaccination status to digital IDs was being laid months before the program was publicly announced in July of 2021.

At a time when Canadians were contending with strict lockdowns and travel restrictions, senior government officials were actively planning a vaccine certification framework. Their aim was to synchronize Canada’s efforts with international vaccine credential standards, aligning with global initiatives. This initiative, however, extended beyond public health concerns, as documents show industries like aerospace and automotive were lobbying for measures to restore business travel under a new system that would make people feel safe.

The emergence of Canada’s vaccine passport system, and its integration into broader digital platforms like the ArriveCAN app, highlights growing concerns about privacy and the persistent push by governments to implement expansive digital ID frameworks. Under the guise of public health, the report warns that governments are steadily normalizing systems that collect, store, and link sensitive personal data, creating the infrastructure for a future dominated by digital surveillance and government control.

Reclaim the Net notes that Digital ID systems go far beyond COVID-19. By embedding such infrastructure within everyday activities, governments are positioning themselves to expand digital ID usage into other areas, including access to public services, financial services, and even employment. 

Once such systems are in place, their scope inevitably broadens, as governments and corporations find new uses for the collected data.

The report concludes:

“The ArriveCAN app serves as a stark example of how quickly digital tools can be repurposed. Initially introduced as a pandemic tracking tool, it soon became mandatory for travelers to upload sensitive vaccination information, tied to their official identification.”

A federal judge in Kentucky has struck down the Biden administration’s attempt to redefine sex in Title IX as so-called gender identity, providing a huge legal victory for female athletes and students nationwide.

The U.S. District Court Eastern District of Kentucky Northern Division issued the ruling Thursday in Cardona v. Tennessee.

Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys represented a West Virginia high-school female athlete and Christian Educators Association International in the lawsuit alongside the state of Tennessee. The district court ruling applies nationwide and to every part of the Biden Title IX rule, meaning the rule is completely invalidated, and the U.S. Department of Education is unable to enforce it—anywhere.

ADF President and CEO Kristen Waggoner issued a statement that reads:

“This is a colossal win for women and girls across the country. The Biden administration’s radical attempt to redefine sex not only tossed fairness, safety, and privacy for female students out the window, it also threatened free speech and parental rights. With this ruling, the federal court in Kentucky rejected the entire Biden rule and the administration’s illegal actions. We are thankful for the leadership of Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti and other state attorneys general who challenged this blatant overreach alongside our courageous clients. This ruling provides enormous relief for students across the country, including our client who has already suffered harassment by a male student in the locker room and on her sports team.”

South Dakota’s lone congressman is introducing legislation that aims to re-plant the American flag at the Panama Canal, repurchasing it for one dollar.

U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson, R-S.D., introduced this week the Panama Canal Repurchase Act, which would authorize the president and secretary of state to initiate and conduct negotiations with Panamanian officials.

The 50-mile-long waterway was opened in 1914 as an artificial passage for shipping vessels to travel between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans without having to navigate around the southern tip of South America.

The United States spearheaded the construction of the canal in 1903 after obtaining rights from Panama. After more than 60 years of controlling the canal, the land was ceded back to Panama in the 1970s under the late President Jimmy Carter.

President-Elect Donald Trump has recently made comments showing a strong interest in re-obtaining the canal, saying that Panamanian control of the waterway hasn’t benefitted America and has resulted in the Chinese actually taking control of the strategic waterway.

Slay News reports that fake-meat products such as Bill Gates’s lab-grown beef are linked to cardiovascular diseases and heart failure-related deaths, a new study has found.

The study found that the hyper-processed foods cause a greatly increased risk of cardiac arrest and strokes.

The results of the study are a major blow to the narrative that vegetarian and vegan diets help to lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

According to a new study by researchers at Imperial College London, which analyzed the diets of more than 118,000 adults aged 40 to 69, scientists found that meat-free protein alternatives carry a huge risk of heart disease if they are ultra-processed.

The study, published in Lancet Regional Health-Europe, notes that this excludes natural produce such as fresh fruit and vegetables.

However, ultra-processed food products, or UPFs, that are plant-derived, insect-based, or lab-grown, carry an increased risk of heart failure and death.

Scientists found that these UPFS carry a 15 percent higher risk of suffering heart attacks and strokes.

The researchers found that these dangers are even present in plant-based UPFs, which have long been hailed as a healthy option to meat.

In another health-related story, titanium dioxide is the most widely used whitening pigment in the world and has been linked to adverse health effects, particularly genotoxicity and intestinal inflammation.

The Defender reports that this chemical is applied as a food coloring and a whitening agent to a wide variety of foods, including chewing gum, cakes, candies, breads and ice cream.

Because of health risks, France banned titanium dioxide, or TiO2, as a food additive in 2020. Two years later the European Union also banned titanium dioxide as a food additive.

But in the U.S., titanium dioxide is found all over the grocery shelves.

Candy like Skittles, Starburst and Jell-O, gum like Trident White peppermint gum and Mentos Freshmint Gum, cake products like Duncan Hines Creamy Vanilla Frosting and Nabisco Chips Ahoy! cookies are just a few of the myriad food items that contain the harmful additive.

A significant body of research, mostly from rodent models and in vitro studies, has linked titanium dioxide with health risks related to the gut, including intestinal inflammation, alterations to the gut microbiota and more.

It is classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Group 2B, as possibly carcinogenic to humans.

As a food additive, titanium dioxide and its nanoparticles in particular have been associated with DNA damage and cell mutations, which in turn, have the potential to cause cancer. When used as a food coloring, it is known as E171.

Brian Matusz, the left-handed pitcher who spent eight seasons in the major leagues, mostly with the Baltimore Orioles, has died suddenly and unexpectedly. He was 37 years old.

The Orioles and the University of San Diego announced Matusz’s death Tuesday night, January 7, with USD saying it received word from Matusz’s family. 

No cause of death was given. All we know is that it happened suddenly while the former baseball pitcher was in Arizona.

The Phoenix police department confirmed on Wednesday night that it responded to a dead body call at 2:45 p.m. on Monday and found Matusz. The department said the incident is being handled as a death investigation and the case is pending findings by a medical examiner.

Time now for our nightly Worldview Report commentary.

There was a ton of drama at former President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral on Thursday.

Former President Jimmy Carter, who died on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100, was laid to rest Thursday, January 9. Yet, the state funeral at Washington National Cathedral was chock full of awkward, even humorous moments. 

All living former presidents were in attendance. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were there. So was Mike Pence, Trump’s VP during his first term. 

Seeing them all together in the same room was instructive. Some you would expect to be at odds with each other appeared pretty chummy.

Trump shook hands with Mike Pence. Karen Pence refused to acknowledge either Trump or his wife, Melania.

Obama did not shake Trump or Melania's hand but shook everyone else's hands. 

Bush walked right past the Trumps, then slapped Obama in the stomach and shook hands with everyone else. 

Obama and Trump shared lots of laughs while seated next to each other, a sight that didn’t set well with Kamala Harris.

The Clintons walked in and ignored Bush, Obama and Trump, basically keeping to themselves.

Then, Kamala Harris and her husband took their seats in the row directly in front of Trump and Obama, who were still engaged in deep conversation.

When Kamala turned her head and saw Trump and Obama chatting as if they were best buds, she quickly turned her gaze back to the front of the cathedral but was unable to hide her scowl.

All I could think as I watched this video was, God help our nation. We have for decades been ruled by a cabal of elites with little regard for the common people. They are people just like us, with all of the same flaws and sometimes many more, and yet they are the ones promoted up the ladder of leadership into positions of great power and authority.

And I’m not just talking about presidents and vice presidents. It starts at the local level, where often there is a lack of candidates with good solid character to serve as our representatives.

There’s a saying, that a nation’s leaders reflect its people. If that is even moderately true, we’ve got a lot of work to do in terms of soul searching and trying, with God’s help, to be better human beings. So, let’s take an honest look in the mirror as we start this new year, and repent where repenting is needed, and pray that we get leaders who are able to do the same.
