Dr. Erwin Lutzer is the Senior Pastor of the Moody Church in Chicago having served there since 1980. He is an award-winning author of more than 30 books. His latest book is entitled, 'The Cross in the Shadow of the Crescent'. It's subtitle is 'An informed response to Islam's war with Christianity.' Dr. Lutzer discovered something interesting when he went to Asia Minor (Today's nation of Turkey) to visit the seven cities that had churches to whom Jesus dictated letters in the book of Revelation. What he discovered is that there are no visible churches but there are mosques everywhere. Previous to that he had been in Istanbul. While there, a devout Muslim guide told him that Islam's ability to replace the church is proof of its superiority as a religion. Dr. Lutzer asked God for wisdom regarding any lessons that these non-existent churches might be communicating to the American church. He feels that within an hour, the Lord had given him 8 or 9 lessons that became the seed for his book. 'The Cross in the Shadow of the Crescent' goes beyond the obvious terrorist threat and deals with the intrusion of Islam in America and its efforts to use the freedoms evoked in our Constitution to actually destroy the Constitution. On this Crosstalk you'll learn about the 'faces' of Islam, the purpose and significance of mosques within Islamic culture, the phenomenon of Chrislam, how Luther felt about encroaching Islam and much more.
