Did Kirk go off the deep end?

Did Kirk go off the deep end?I don't jump off deep ends very often. But when I do, I like to know exactly what I'm jumping into before I take the leap. That way, I can dive in deep, and know that it is worth the jump.
When I became a man and met the woman I had always dreamed of, I went off the deep end and got married. Staying on the familiar ground of bachelorhood would have been foolishness for me in light of the treasure that was being offered to me in Chelsea- so I jumped in and promised my life to the one I loved.
After six years enjoying our new life together as husband and wife, Chelsea and I decided to dive into the adventure of raising a family. I knew it was going to change my life. I'd have been crazy to think it wouldn't. But the desire that drove me to start a family won out, and I willingly jumped off the deep end into parenthood. Now we have five children and I can't imagine my life without them; they are priceless treasures I wouldn't have today if I didn't have the courage to jump.
Jumping off the deep end has its advantages. Those who jump experience what those who don't jump can only dream about. When I was a child, I thought like a child and only dreamed of diving into great things. Now that I'm a man, I think like a man and live my dreams by diving in deep.
When I consider the value of my wife, my children, and the importance of living honestly and passionately, I can't help wondering about the unseen Maker of my child's tiny hands and feet, how He made her little face to resemble the image of the beautiful woman who had captured my heart 11 years ago with the same sweet look. I sit in utter amazement as I look at the beautiful wife I have, who loves me in spite of all my selfish ways. And when I honestly examine the quality of my own heart in the light of a Just and Holy God, I can see my need for His precious mercy and grace- so I jumped in.
I have written something specifically for you- will you read it carefully and consider my questions honestly? I'm not asking you to jump off a cliff, just put your toe in the shallow water. Here's my first question-- Do you consider yourself to be a good person?"
