The Accuracy and Authenticity of the Holy Bible

“DO NOT THINK THAT I WILL ACCUSE YOU TO THE FATHER; THERE IS ONE THAT ACCUSES YOU, EVEN MOSES, IN WHOM YOU TRUST.  FOR HAD YOU BELIEVED MOSES, YOU WOULD HAVE BELIEVED ME; FOR HE WROTE OF ME. But if you believe not his writings, how shall you believe my words? (John 5:45-47)

  1. The Authentication of Scripture (i.e The Holy Bible)

Many people are unsure of the accuracy and authenticity of the Holy Bible.  However, it is important to understand that here in John Ch 5, and in other places, the LORD Jesus Christ, Himself, both authenticates the Scriptures and testifies to its accuracy throughout.  How does he do this? First, He tells the Jews, whom he cared for and loved, “most assuredly, I say unto you, he who hears my Word and believes on Him who sent me hath everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment (condemnation), but has passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).  Then, he tells those same Jewish listeners, that He will not condemn them, but rather Moses will condemn them, if they do not believe.

The LORD Jesus Christ tells them, “Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one who accuses you – even Moses, in whom you trust.  For if you believed Moses, you would have believed me; for he wrote of me. But if you do not believe his writings, how shall you believe my words.” (John 5:45-47)

But, why does this matter? And, when did Moses write of Jesus? Read Genesis Ch. 3.  Here we find that Satan (in the form of a serpent) deceived Eve and lied about God. Eve ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and disobeyed God! Eve then gave the fruit to Adam. He ate it and disobeyed God.  And then God cursed the serpent (Satan), cursed the ground, declared toil and sweat in earning a living from the ground for the man, and declared sorrow and pain in childbearing for the woman.  Then, God said in Gen 3:15 “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” Thus we see sin, sorrow, death, punishment and the foreshadowing promise of Redemption (the seed of the woman (Jesus) who would bruise the head of the serpent, (Satan)).

In Romans Ch. 5, we see “(Therefore, as) by one man sin entered into the world (or as Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones says ‘sin invaded the world’) and death by sin, thus death spread to all men because all sinned ...” (Romans 5:12) We see that there was no death in the world until Adam sinned.  That Adam’s sin is imputed to all of his seed (descendants), “because all sinned”.  And that death touches all men because of sin. Everyone is affected! All are dead in their trespasses and sins, and walking according to the prince of the power of the air, and are by nature children of wrath, “BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses and sins, made us alive together in Christ (by grace you have been saved)…”(Ephesians 2:1-10)

So, Moses points to Jesus, who is the only answer for the sin and death in the world.  And Jesus refers back to Moses.  And, when Jesus refers to Moses, he affirms the accuracy and authenticity of scripture.  He does this in other places also.  For example, Matthew 22:29, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God”, and again, in John Ch. 8 vs 48-59 (in context), particularly v 56 “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it, and was glad”. In fact, the apostle John goes on to say in Ch 20:30,31 “…but these (scriptures) are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”

And this matters because many things are concerning people today.  Covid, how it started, what do the vaccines do, and are they effective? What about the mandates? How can we survive inflation? Why is all this happening? Why doesn’t anyone know the answer to anything? Well, the next time you are reading the news about things going on in the world, or are watching TV and wondering what is going on? Know that it is because Adam disobeyed God and sin invaded the world. This is why it is important to know that the Scriptures are authentic and accurate.  All are sinners “by nature” by just being born.  And, as we see in Romans Ch 1, the consequence of sin is judgment. “The wrath of God is already revealed against all ungodliness, unrighteousness, and those who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.” (Romans 1:18)  So, there is judgment on the world, and a final judgment to come.  But there is also a great essential that many are neglecting.  And that is the good news of Salvation.

The GOOD NEWS is that God has “so loved the world” (us) that He has “sent his only begotten Son (Jesus)” into the world that “whosever believeth on Him shall NOT perish, but have everlasting life”.  (John 3:16) All who believe on Him will not perish by incurring the wrath of God.  Why is this? Because the Lord Jesus Christ was “delivered for our offenses and raised again for our justification” (Romans 4:25) That is Good News!!  And we see Jesus is telling the Jews who were listening to Him in John Ch 5, vs 45-47 that God had told Moses, and Moses wrote, that God was going to provide the way of escape from the judgment to come. Because God would put enmity between the seed of the serpent (Satan) and the seed of the woman (Jesus).  And “He [the seed of the woman Jesus] shall bruise your head (the serpent’s head) and you shall bruise His heel” (Genesis 3:15).  There is a Salvation that we must not neglect!

  1. The Way of Salvation – The Gospel of Christ

So, we see that the Way of Salvation is through the Lord Jesus Christ.  In 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 we find a great explanation of the Gospel message - “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel (good news) which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which you also are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached and have not believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.  And that He was seen of Cephas and of the twelve.  After that, He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the better part remain unto this day, but some have fallen asleep. After that, He was seen of James; then by all of the apostles.  And last of all He was seen by me also, as of one born out of due time.  For I am the least of all apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.  But by the grace of God, I am what I am; and His grace toward me was not in vain, but I labored more abundantly than they all; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.  Therefore, whether it was I or they, so we preach, and so you believed.”  The LORD Jesus Christ is God’s only way of Salvation – the only way!

In II Corinthians 5: 17-21 the Apostle Paul goes on to say “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold all things are becoming new.  Now all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation - that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us, we pray you, in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For He hath made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we may be made the righteousness of God in Him.  The person and work of Jesus is the gospel good news!

And as we discussed earlier, in Ephesians 2:1-10 we also see that the good news of the Gospel of Christ applies to Everyone.  Though everyone has sinned and is dead in their trespasses and sins, and apart from Christ will suffer the wrath of God, (v 1-3) we see that God has had mercy (v 4) and His mercy is available to everyone who will come. “But God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love, with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, has made us alive together with Christ!” No one has to die and go to hell! When one repents from their sins and places their trust in the LORD Jesus Christ, they are made alive in Christ.

We also see that the LORD Jesus Christ himself invites us.  He tells us in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and I will give you rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” This is an absolute truth.  God cannot lie! Jesus Himself invites us to come!!  “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.  Howbeit, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might show forth longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting (I Timothy 1:15-17). “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17) In Mark, the Lord Jesus says, “The Kingdom of God is at hand, Repent!” (Mark 1:15)

So, this is Good News! There is a Salvation that we must not neglect! Tell all you know to repent from their sins and place their trust in the LORD Jesus Christ, who is mighty to save! If you have never placed your trust in Him, or if you are unsure, you may repent from your sins and place your trust in the LORD Jesus Christ, today.  Repentance just means to surrender your will to Christ.  To trust means to completely rely on Him.  We will place no confidence in the flesh, but completely lean on the LORD Jesus Christ.

  1. Conclusion

“Now may the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will; working in you that which is well-pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:20-21

“When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” – by Isaac Watts

v.1   When I survey the wondrous cross   v.3  See from His Head, His Hands, His Feet,

On which the Prince of Glory died Sorrow and Love flow mingled down,

My richest gain, I count but loss Did ever such Love and Sorrow meet?

And pour contempt on all my pride. Or thorns compose so rich a Crown?

v.2  Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast v.4   His dying crimson, like a Robe,

Save in the death of Christ my God; Spread o’er His body on the Tree;

All the vain things that charm me most, Then, I am dead to all the Globe,

I sacrifice them to His Blood. (v2) And, all the Globe is dead to me.

v.5  Were the whole Realm of Nature mine,

That were a Present far too small.

Love so amazing, so divine,

Demands my Soul, my Life, my All.

In 2016, WVW-TV began to urge our radio and television audience to prepare for increasingly uncertain times such as:

  • disrupted “just in time” inventory supply chains
  • massive increase in inflation
  • biological warfare and terrorism
  • an EMP attack from China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea
  • A cyber attack on our critical infrastructure, including power-grid, water utilities and/or the banking industry

Then, 2020 happened with the biological attack on America by Communist China through Covid-19. Finding hamburger meat, a can of soup, pasta, a can of tuna, and other basics became shockingly challenging.

Those who had mocked our organization for calling on our audience to prepare with an emergency food supply were no longer laughing at us. In fact, some of them began to order emergency food from our store.

I have enjoyed Mountain House food on camping trips going back to when I was in high school. I purchased 6 months of food for 5 people in April of 2013 for my family. Three and a half years later, Worldview Weekend became a distributor for Mountain House because we personally know and testify to the quality of the food and understand the need for families to have "food insurance" in an increasingly dangerous world.

Please go to www.wvwtv.com/store
