Unity in the Church with Steve Ham Why can’t all Christians and churches get along? Why is there so much disunity between Christians and churches? The Bible never says we should come together just on the issues we agree on. The Bible never states we should only teach the parts we like and not the parts that are controversial. The Bible does teach that we should keep the truth. A church can’t just make up its own rules (doctrines) to establish unity. Unity must be found in the truth of God’s Word. There is nothing in God’s Word that is divisive. God’s Word does not create disunity. It happens when people don’t believe the plain reading of His Word and begin reinterpreting it or watering it down (for example: millions of years, Genesis is not real history, the gap theory, no such place as hell, works based,…).
