This broadcast addressed an issue that’s not regularly discussed here but is still very important for the life of the home, the family and the church.  It concerns marriages and the storms that impact those relationships.  

To discuss this issue from the perspective of their marriage, Jim welcomed Jeff and Sarah Walton, co-authors of the book, Together Through the Storms: Biblical Encouragements for Your Marriage When Life Hurts.

At the time when we’re saying our wedding vows, we prefer to think about a future of richness and health as opposed to the times where we might be poorer or going through times of sickness.  In reality, all marriages pass through storms.  Sometimes they blow in from the outside and sometimes they blow up from inside.  

Beginning with the health and behavioral challenges of their first child, Jeff and Sarah also reflected on other experiences in their marriage that included facing Sarah’s own chronic illness issues, the after-effects of abuse and financial difficulties, and through their story, they explained how to cling to Jesus and to each other.
