Brannon Howse: Aired December 22, 2011
Brannons guest is Chris Pinto and then Dr. Jimmy DeYoung. Topic One: Hear audio of Rev. Don Wildmon, a well-known pro-family leader, speaking about why he is supporting Newt Gingrich. The troubling part is that the comment is made that unless Newt is elected then the country is gone forever. Why would any Christian or conservative think that the country can be saved by someone like Newt Gingrich with his very liberal worldview? How do we know the country is not being judged by God and thus even a President Newt could not restore America? Rev. Wildmon goes on to speak of Newts claim that he has repented of his past and Rev. Wildmon says that God has forgiven Newt? How do we know that God has forgiven Newt? If someone repents and is forgiven of God does that not imply they are a Christian? Yet, what Biblical evidence is there that Newt is a Christian; particularly since he has reportedly converted to Roman Catholicism? The Church of Rome has redefined Jesus and thus the gospel. Therefore Christian leaders need to be very careful saying that someone that embraces Roman Catholicism has repented of their past sin and has been forgiven by God. When Christians declare or imply that a politician, or any other public figure, is a Christian, when there is evidence to contrary, then the danger is that the definition of what it means to be a Christian is distorted before an unsaved world and the gospel is compromised. Topic: Jimmy DeYoung joins us to discuss: Bethlehem prepares for international celebration on Christmas Eve and US soldiers leave Iraq to go home for the holidays as Iraq begins to fall apart.
