The World on the Brink: Gordon Chang Exposes China’s Chaos and America’s Fight for Freedom

Folks, if you missed my latest interview with Gordon Chang, you need to sit up and pay attention. The world is teetering on the edge, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. From disappearing Chinese generals to joint military exercises with Russia and Iran, from supercomputers to tariffs, we’re witnessing a global power play that threatens everything we hold dear—freedom, democracy, and our way of life. Gordon Chang, one of the sharpest minds on China today, joined me to unpack it all, and what he revealed should shake you to your core.

China’s Internal Collapse: A Nuclear Powder Keg

Let’s start with the bombshell Gordon dropped about China. Over the past week, half a dozen senior Chinese military officers have vanished—poof, gone. Among them is General He Weidong, the number two uniformed officer in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Gordon pointed out that the Rocket Force, which controls China’s nuclear arsenal, is in chaos, with disappearances and even a suicide among its top brass. This isn’t just internal drama; it’s a militant nuclear state tearing itself apart. Xi Jinping’s iron grip is slipping, and the military isn’t happy about it. PLA propaganda is now pushing “collective leadership”—a direct slap at Xi’s one-man rule.

What happens when a nuclear power implodes? As Gordon put it, “We’re about to find out.” This isn’t some distant hypothetical; it’s a clear and present danger. A fractured China could lash out unpredictably, and with their nukes in play, the world is on notice.

The Axis of Evil: China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea

Meanwhile, China’s not going it alone. They’re tightening bonds with Russia, Iran, and North Korea—an axis of evil hell-bent on dismantling the international system. Gordon highlighted their joint military exercises in the Gulf of Oman, a high-profile stunt in a crowded sea lane. It’s political theater with a purpose: to flex their muscles and thumb their noses at the United States. Just days ago, their deputy foreign ministers met in Beijing, issuing statements that trash America while Iran races toward a nuclear weapon. President Trump has warned he’ll deal with this militarily if needed, but China and Russia are doubling down in support of Tehran.

And it’s not just saber-rattling. Iran and Russia are teaming up to produce semiconductors—chips for drones and weapons, many of which already rely on Chinese tech. Add in China’s new quantum supercomputer, reportedly a million times faster than Google’s, and you’ve got a technological arms race with military implications. Gordon cautioned that China’s breakthroughs often overpromise, but even if this supercomputer is half as good as they claim, it’s a game-changer for AI-driven warfare.

Elon Musk, Space, and China’s Leverage

Then there’s Elon Musk. Love him or hate him, the world’s richest man is in China’s crosshairs. Tesla’s Gigafactory in Shanghai and its reliance on the Chinese market give Beijing leverage—leverage that could extend to SpaceX. Gordon raised a chilling point: if America’s return to the moon depends on Musk, and China can pressure him through Tesla, what’s to stop them from compromising our space dominance? Musk has said some pro-China things—like on Taiwan—that don’t sit right, and with the next war likely decided in space, this is a vulnerability we can’t ignore.

Closer to home, Elon’s building what he calls “Colossal” in Memphis—a massive chip facility sucking up water from the Mississippi River at 2,098 gallons a minute. He’s aiming for 1.5 to 2 million chips by 2027. It’s impressive, but it’s also a reminder of how intertwined our tech future is with global players like China.

South Korea’s Slide Toward Communism

Gordon also sounded the alarm on South Korea, where freedom hangs by a thread. President Yoon Suk-yeol, a conservative, declared martial law for six hours last December and got impeached by a leftist-controlled National Assembly that stole elections in 2022 and 2024. Now, the Constitutional Court will decide his fate. If he’s ousted, a new election could hand power to Yi Jae-myung, a ruthless pro-China, pro-North Korea, anti-U.S. leftist who’d turn South Korea communist and maybe even merge it with the North. Yoon’s approval has surged to 46-51% because South Koreans see the left overreaching, but the clock’s ticking.

Trump’s Tariffs: More Than Meets the Eye

President Trump’s tariffs on Mexico and Canada? They’re not just about trade. Gordon confirmed what I’ve been saying: this is about countering Chinese Communist Party (CCP) infiltration. In 2024, Border Patrol nabbed 158 terrorists sneaking in from Mexico and 358 from Canada—more than double from the northern border. Canada’s government knows and hasn’t acted, and Trump’s had enough. He’s using tariffs as leverage to force Ottawa and Mexico City to deal with the CCP threat on our doorstep—think military-aged males and maybe even Chinese troops training in Canada’s cold climates. This is unrestricted warfare, folks.

The Panama Canal and Missouri’s COVID Win

Good news? BlackRock’s buying port operations at the Panama Canal from a China-controlled Hong Kong firm. It’s not a perfect fix—China still has influence there—but it’s a 90-95% win for us, as Gordon noted. And in Missouri, the Attorney General just won a multi-billion-dollar lawsuit against China over COVID. China didn’t even show up, claiming sovereign immunity, but Gordon says the CCP isn’t sovereign—it’s just one of nine parties in China. Missouri could seize CCP-linked assets, like a destroyer or land bought by Chinese nationals here. Imagine getting our farmland back from a regime that’s poisoned it with espionage and illegal marijuana grows!

Rubio’s Stand and Trump’s Vision

Finally, hats off to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He’s imposing visa restrictions on officials forcing Uyghurs back to China for torture and death—40 just from Thailand, a U.S. ally gone sideways. Gordon called it “magnificent,” and I agree. As for Trump, Gordon’s thrilled with his assertive foreign policy—energy independence, LNG exports, and tackling China—though he doubts a “reverse Nixon” with Russia will work. I say Trump’s doing what his predecessors wouldn’t: facing the threats head-on.
