The aftermath of this week’s SCOTUS decision regarding the Colorado judicial system’s forcing of Jack Phillips, a devout evangelical Christian, to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding. Although the High Court on Monday sided in favor of Phillips, was this decision actually good for the First Amendment and for the freedoms that Christians enjoy in this country? While many conservatives are misinterpreting this decision as a victory, as will be demonstrated, the decision actually represents a tremendous setback for our constitutional liberties.
