The Right and Wrong Way to Pray!
Passage: Matthew 6:5-8

Description: Perhaps you pray daily and even year after year for a particular thing. It might be the sale of some property or possession; it might be the salvation of a lost family member or a friend; it might be that you are praying for a child or grandchild who is especially difficult; it might be continual prayers for a husband who doesn’t lead your home spiritually as he should; perhaps your ongoing prayer is for reconciliation with someone. Or maybe your steadfast prayers could be for other things that I have not mentioned.  With that in mind, the question we might ask ourselves when glancing at our text before us is this: “Am I in violation of what Jesus is saying here in the Sermon on the Mount? Am I using vain repetitions as the heathen do? Do I think I will be heard and answered because of my many words?”  These are good questions to ask ourselves and the Lord willing, we will answer these questions as we study this important passage of scripture and deal with the right way and the wrong way to pray. We will consider two right ways to pray and we will consider two wrong ways to pray in this passage.
