The past can be accurately predictive of the future.  In this week's boralogue, John looks at predictions and how, if you study the historical trends with politics and the economy, it's easy to see where we're headed.  He highlights the leftward momentum toward a utopian society and the pushback that has resulted from it.  When the storms arrive, we should be prepared and stand on rock, not on shifting sand.

Can we have human rights without natural law?  Dan Philpott (www.arcoftheuniverse.info), Political Science Professor at the University of Notre Dame, joins us to discuss the nature of right and wrong and expectations surrounding Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's new Commission on Unalienable Rights.

When you sort through all the noise in the news today, certain data points about our future become clear.  We welcome back futurist and author James Kunstler (www.kunstler.com) to the program to look at what's in store for the Republicans and the Democrats, as well as what we can expect in the economy and free speech arenas.

To illustrate how effective predictions can be, John plays part of a speech from Robert Welch from 1968 showing exactly how progressive socialists have operated in the last half century.  He also plays a speech from the late Dr. Michael Coffman, a former guest on Steel, highlighting the competing worldviews of John Locke and Jean-Jacques Rousseau.

John’s quote of the week:

"The purpose of rights as they were written in our Constitution is to act as a firewall, not to enable government but to block government from infringing on the rights of the people.  People would then have the maximum opportunity to be free, to engage in free enterprise, and to be left alone."
